One thing you should know about me is that I am critical of the medical model as it relates to mental wellbeing, since this system has a tendency to over-pathologize normal responses to stressful life events. As a consequence to this model of care, we are in an overmedicated society, where we have been taught that pills are solutions to complex issues. I will never judge anyone if they decide to take psychotropic medication; I will, however, encourage you to research and understand the impact medication has on your mind and body since doctor's too often skim over this information in their brief visits with you. It is possible that medication is what will help you to move forward in life, and as long as you are comfortable with the medication and what it is doing to and for you, that is what matters.

Shaun Fischler, LPC, LAC

I've been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2010 and Licensed Addiction Counselor since 2014 in Colorado. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, Colorado Counseling Association, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Over my career I have had the opportunity to work with diverse clientele, including veterans, stay-at-home parents, retirees, GLBTQ, corporate professionals, and many others. I am trained in treatment approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Person-Centered Therapy, for a wide array of concerns mentioned above. I provide video therapy sessions for busy individuals in Colorado who may not have the time or desire to travel across town, for those who live in remote areas of the state, and for those who cannot access services otherwise.
